Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office, our receptionist will  welcome you as a member of our family.  We will request that you complete our  patient forms located in the New Patient Center. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Kevin Davis or Dr. Novlet Jarrett Davis to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Kevin Davis or Dr. Novlet Jarrett Davis to learn more about you, your condition, and  expectations to determine how chiropractic care or weight loss and fitness can meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Kevin Davis will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well. However, nothing  will be done in our office  without your consent.

If you have decided to begin Dr. Jarrett's Weight Loss Program, Dr. Novlet Jarrett Davis will perform a complete weight loss examination, including weighing in on our digital scales, calculating tape measurements, understanding your personal food journals in detail, and many more vital steps that are included with the start up examination.

X-Ray Studies

Depending on your specific condition, if you have decided to receive chiropractic care, the doctor may need to take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop  the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of  any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

 Digital Paraspinal Thermal Imaging

         The human body and all of its organs are controlled by the nervous system. These nerves run from the brain, down the spinal column, and eventually innervate various organs throughout the body. Each one of the nerves leaving the spinal column innervates specific areas of the skin, which divides further into patterns known as dermatomes. A dermatome is an area of skin associated with a pair of dorsal roots that come from the spine. Why is this important?
        Well, the Tytron digital paraspinal thermal instrument, is a non-invasive diagnostic tool, that incorporates extremely sensitive and stable infrared sensors (up to 1/100th of a degree F), high resolution thermal data collection, fiber optic communication, beam collimating lenses, travel distance encoders, and computer processing.
        The Tytron C-3000 has the unique ability to record thermal differentials (right to left thermal asymmetries) on the horizontal scale, and on a vertical scale. It will measure both at a very high resolution. This is a critical feature for detecting proper "pattern" analysis, to detect an individual’s nerve interference. The nice thing about it all, it that there is no radiation involved with this instrument, it is extremely safe!

Report of Findings

Once the information is collected  and examinations are performed, Dr. Kevin Davis will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:

1. How can you help me?
2. How often do I need to come in?
3. What  will  my treatment  cost?

After reviewing your health history,  goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Kevin Davis will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition  requires care with other providers.   Dr. Kevin Davis  will  provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.

Treatment

 At the conclusion of this initial  appointment, you can choose to experience your first treatment with chiropractic care. It will include a spinal adjustment. Before we get very involved with a patient, we give a test adjustment. This is for two purposes. One, it allows the Doctor of Chiropractic the opportunity to unlock the vertebrae that are subluxated. This will free the nerve interference at the spinal cord or nerve root level. Secondly, it gives the patient the chance to observe how well their body responded to the chiropractic care. If you had a favorable response, like most of our patients do, the Chiropractor can then explain what is needed to make the structural correction in your spine. 

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, the doctor will suggest a wellness program  to incorporate outside of treatment.  If you are in pain when you first come into our office this may include: ice application instructions, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches.  If you desire, our wellness team will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle.  Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a  customized wellness plan.  The purpose  of our wellness program is for   you  to achieve good spinal alignment, have a healthy diet, exercise, and maintain a positive mental state.
